LIFE AND POWER OF CHOICE

“One could say, then, that life is a game and that the ability to play a game consists of tolerance for freedom and barriers and an insight into purposes, with the power of choice over participation.”  LRH, PAB 84, 15 May 1956, THE REASON WHY

Hubbard states that one of the conditions of games is power of choice over participation. This may very well be true of a lot of games, but not the game of life – you cannot step out of life. There will always be a next life.

The dynamics of existence

Who is right? Hubbard or Nietzsche? In Scientology the dynamic principle of existence is ‘survive’. In Nietzschean philosophy the dynamic principle of existence is the ‘will to power’.

There is a definite ambiguity in Scientology on this subject. The ethics conditions describe survival as ‘normal operation’ whereas the actual aim is the condition of power, which is the equivalent of Nietzsche’s position. Who is right?

Factor Analysis

The Factors in Scientology are the fundamental actors, elements or ingredients that make up the universe of our experience. There are thirty of them, numbered and thus appearing sequential.

Let’s take up the first and the second:

1. Before the beginning was a Cause and the entire purpose of the cause was the creation of effect.

2. In the beginning and forever is the decision and the decision is TO BE.

From this we can see that the first effect that was created, was the beginning. We also see that a Cause existed to effect this beginning. The second factor provides a non sequitur. ‘TO BE’ means to exist but existence was already in existence at the time of the creation of the first effect. Furthermore it was a decision, which implies that the decision might have turned out NOT TO BE.

If there is a decision, a decision maker must exist. This anonymous decision maker, theoretically could have decided NOT TO BE as the creation of an effect according to Factor 1. This would have to be the case in order for it to then change its mind and decide TO BE.  The problem with this explanation is however that the decision TO BE is forever.

Introduction to ‘statronics’

Hubbard must have had a hard time with his static, first (1951) it was a fixed idea to be audited out, later that year it had evolved to the basic of life and thought in the axioms. A year or so later, at the time of Technique 8-80, it was made more mobile and became ‘statronics’. I will explain…

There is no liveliness, no motion, no energy and no electronics in the static by definition, thus he was stuck in an untenable position. The way out was to pronounce that thought was a kind of “energy” which was not part of the physical universe and thus the ‘statronics’ or the electronics of human thought was born. So we finally got analytical thought with a wavelength of 0.0000000000000000000000002 cm.

This supreme wisdom of static motion I have baptized statronics, to honor the oxymoron of THETA the static as motion.

“Thought is the subject matter of Scientology. It is considered as a kind of “energy” which is NOT PART of the physical universe. It controls energy, but it has no wave length. It uses matter, but it has no mass. It is found in space, but it has no position. It records time, but it is not subject to time. The Greek word (and letter), THETA, is used as a symbol for thought as an ‘energy’”. Scientology 8-80, p. 3.

Divine Dynamics

From a lofty viewpoint what really motivates us can be described as follows:

  1. The first dynamic is the urge to become a god
  2. Then there is the urge to become divine lovers
  3. The urge to form a community of gods
  4. The urge to enhance the species of gods
  5. The desire to have perfect life forms for divinity
  6. To have a playground for gods in statu nascendi
  7. The desire to have all of us become gods
  8. The wish to unite all gods

Life is like a game

If we compare life to a game of chess, we might have the following scenario. There is a static board which is the spacetime Cartesian grid and there are invisible static rules. Then there are players usually two and sixteen white pieces and sixteen black pieces. The two players are clusters of invisible thetans or souls. There is a cluster called white and one called black. These thetans are mathematical functions*, which is to say they have thought energy of a limitless potential. Each of the thetans operates one of the pieces, coordinated by the thetan in charge of the respective cluster. Part of that mathematical thought energy, in the lower frequencies, they share and that makes the board and the pieces solid. The pieces are the energy particles and configurations they play with.

The purpose of the game is for all participants to reach gnosis and to continue to play until every aspect and combinations in and of the game have been completely understood, which is the apotheosis. They learn to become God, by overcoming Satan, in the form of the opponent’s king, every time, in each iteration of the game, eventually being able to re-program the game itself.

*There is no difference between mathematics and thinking. Mathematics is merely another term for precise thinking.”  ARC and the Tone scale, 4 November 1950

OT and the Abrahamic God

The state of OT:
Knowing and willing cause over thought, life, matter, energy, space and time, subjective and objective. If this is not monotheism it will be the everlasting war of OTs to establish who is the supreme Cause.

It is not well advertised in scientology, but according to Hubbard the operating thetan can also create other thetans. The latter ability is the exact equivalent of the Abrahamic God. The one who created all Christian, Jewish and muslim souls.

The dynamics of existence recast in Nietzschian terms

When doing conditions by dynamics, the ideal scene is the condition of power on each dynamic. One could recast the dynamics in Nietzschean terms as follows:

  1. The will to power over self
  2. The will to power over one’s sex life and the family
  3. The will to power over one’s group or groups
  4. The will to power over mankind
  5. The will to power over all life
  6. The will to power over matter, energy & spacetime
  7. The will to power over everything spiritual & spirits
  8. The will to infinite power
