Hubbard proclaimed a law that would be fundamental to any type of conflict or quarrel, he called it the Third Party Law and it reads as follows:
“A third party must be present and unknown in every quarrel for a conflict to exist.”

This is an unwarranted generality at best as there are obviously conflicts between parties which are by definition in conflict such as Protestants and Catholics, Democrats and Republicans, Theists vs atheists, vaccination enforcers and anti-vaxxers etc. etc.

In other cases such as the ultra rich elite vs. the divided populace it may nevertheless apply. The former employ the old ‘divide et impera’ whilst hiding behind other obvious fighting parties and thus would constitute a more or less hidden third party.
